The project developed pilot business models on the treatment and re-use of faecal sludge. These include co-composting, briquettes, earth worms and biogas digesters. The most significant of these is the co-composting which is integrated with the municipal market waste to improve solid waste management as well. Co-Composting offers a sustainable solution for waste management, but also offers a value product for the farming community whose farmlands has been depleted of nutrients and carbon content through unsustainable farming. Lillie's Organic Compost is currently operating the Limbe site. The briquettes has been carried into our current EU Project.
